The Good:
- If you're lazy for a day or two (or a few), and it gets a little jacked up, it's totally salvageable, and will look as fabulous as it did when you first installed it, if you just give it a little patience.
- I've had it for coming up on 4 months, and it is STILL beautiful.
- It blends beautifully with 3c-4b hair (4a & 4b with a little help from some Edge Control and a scarf)
- It looks VERY natural.
- Conditioner (leave-in or otherwise) is this hair's BEST FRIEND
The Bad:
- This hair is NOT for the perpetually lazy!
- Washing it is a process (will do a video on washing it)
- This hair does not like a lot of products (i.e., oil, gel, spritz). It WILL mat up on you.
- You need a routine for bedtime for this hair.
- If you don't seal the wefts, this hair will shed like a worried dog!
So, to prevent all of this, here are some easy steps to keep your BoBraz awesomely....awesome. LOL
- Only wash it with shampoo (sulfate free) once a month. When washing it:
- De-tangle with a wide tooth comb or Denman brush beforehand.
- Part hair into multiple (4 or more) sections.
- Use a shower comb (available at Target, WalMart, etc) while wetting each section.
- Shampoo each section, using a smoothing motion, not a scrubbing one.
- Use your shower comb while rinsing.
- Add conditioner, and comb through entire head
- Either leave in, or rinse, keeping it detangled.
- When co-washing it:
- Follow Shampoo steps 1-3
- Apply conditioner, and comb through with wide tooth comb.
- Allow conditioner to sit on hair for about 5-10 minutes
- Rinse, detangle, towel dry
- Spray with bottle mixture, or apply small amount of conditioner and style.
- The best "bottle mixtures":
- Water and conditioner (suggestions below):
- Tresemme Flawless curls conditioner
- Herbal Essences Totally Twisted conditioner
- Mixed Chicks Leave-in
- Kinky Curly Knot Today
- Kiehl's 133 Grooming Aid conditioner
- Nexxus Humectress conditioner
- Water, Glycerin, conditioner
- The best curl products:
- Kinky Curly Curling Custard
- Taliah Waajid Kinky, Wavy, Natural Herbal Style & Shine
- Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Serum
- John Frieda Serum (in the PURPLE bottle)
- You can use a diffuser if you like, but it's not necessary.
With this knowledge, your BoBraz will always "be poppin"!
Great Post....What did you seal the weft with?
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't seal the BoBraz like I did with the Egyptian Wave, but I suggest Dritz Fray Check to seal them. Make sure you do, because this hair sheds A LOT!!!
